Alright people really, I know the global economy has been bad for sometime and making money is getting harder, paying bills is difficult and everyone would love to be rich.

Want to know the truth about the make money at home sites (at least the vast majority of them)? Here is the simple truth:

When it sounds too good to be true, it almost always is. So how is it sites like those seen on CNN, in the NY Times, and other seemingly credible media sources?

They sell you the big secret about making money online, advertising. They make claims of making thousands of dolars a month, week, even day. The big secret they dont want you to know is all their so called secret money making ideas are not so secret and whats worse, there is little chance of you making that kind of money without some great luck and serious work.

So how do you make money online without selling anything?

• Google Adsesne is one of the most popular choices for advertising as it allows a great control and selection for your site. It also uses only text based ads with very little effort and no need to track down your own advertisers.
• Commission Junction is a large and growing affiliate program site that rather than click based as is google adsense, is based on product sales from the affiliate vendors. Any sales generated from your links will make you money. This links can be posted on your site or as suggested on the make "tons of money" sites, spam them everywhere all day long, YouTube, Digg, ect ect.

These are only a couple of options, if you google around you should be able to find even more similar two these two, there are many options for affiliate programs and advertising for your website or blog.

So whats th real secret that allows these people to have huge houses and make huge amounts of money? Charging the duped user desperate to do anything to make a few extra bucks into paying their small prices of admission to sell you some useless information that you could have found on google for yourself.

My final note, rather than trying to make a quick buck onlne, perhaps you should take that buck and use it to make a slow buck. There are quite a few options for making money with a little elbow grease and know how.
